Tuesday, August 7, 2012 Whoa, it's been about a minute since I last updated this site! Here are a few images I've been working on...

Wednesday, June 22, 2011 Due to the conspicuous lack of updates I have received several emails inquiring as to whether or not I have been imprisoned abroad or perhaps held captive by a clan of mutant hill people. I can neither confirm nor deny either of these allegations. Here...allow me to distract you with this painting... description of the photo

Thursday, December 15, 2010 Haven't been updating my site but I've been working hard on my next painting. Here is an illustration I did for a work project recently. description of the photo

Thursday, September 30, 2010 The Blood, Sweat, and Fears show at Sacred Gallery in NYC is opening this weekend. Wish I could go but my private jet is in the shop. Would love to hear from anyone who has the opportunity to check it out. Oh and while you're at it- buy my piece k thanks;). Also, thanks to everyone who participated in the print giveaway contest at Creep Machine.. And thanks to Josh as well whose idea it was. In other news I should be starting my next painting in the next couple days. Looking forward to it!

Tuesday, August 10, 2010 I've been a fan of the magazine Dangerous Ink for a while and was stoked when the good folks there were nice enough to feature me on their site. Now if I can just trick them somehow into putting me in their magazine:). Check it out here.

Tuesday, July 27, 2010 Whoops! I forgot all about you, internet. Awwww, don't be mad! Here, I made you a piktar! description of the photo

Tuesday, July 6, 2010 An idea for my next painting popped into my head the other day. It would be called "Slumber Party!" and would involve a carnivorous sleeping bag and it's understandably concerned occupant. Gold I tells ya! GOLD! Ok, maybe not. Here's the latest... description of the photo

Monday, June 28, 2010 I think this latest painting is called "The Gatekeeper". description of the photo

Monday, June 21, 2010 Insert vaguely humorous but ultimately forgettable comment here. description of the photo

Friday, June 18, 2010 So the other day while a pack of angry, rabid beavers was gnawing the skin off my face, I thought to myself, "Hey this is exactly what it felt like to come up with the idea for my next painting!". In other words, IT WAS AWESOME! Now that my painful creative logjam has been remedied, I'm excited to get spraying. description of the photo

Tuesday, June 1, 2010 Well, hot damn! Finally wrapped up my latest painting and am pleased with how it turned out. I also got some great photos from Bellevue Fine Art Reproduction- the detail captured by that fancy scanner is quite incredible. Thanks guys! description of the photo

Tuesday, May 11, 2010 I'M ALIVE!!!!!! I've been out of the mix lately because of some minor respiratory health issues but now I'm back in business. I've been toiling away at my piece for the Blood, Sweat, and Fears show in the fall at Sacred Gallery and it's starting to look sufficiently creepy! In other news, one of my pieces (Candy Corp Cavalcade) in the G40 show sold. Thanks random dude named Scott! description of the photo

Sunday, April 18, 2010 Greetings and salutations. I wish I had more to show but I've been locked in mortal combat with a nasty cold and sinus infection. Despite the phlegm (your welcome!), I worked on this unpleasant little fella this weekend. description of the photo

Thursday, April 8, 2010 Whoa, it's been awhile! How have you been- you look great! Have you been working out? Anyway, enough with the chit chat. I just finished up the illustration for my next painting and am stoked to get rolling. I got a little done this weekend...Oh yeah, this is the painting that will be in the Blood, Sweat, and Fears show at the Sacred Gallery in the fall. description of the photo

Sunday, March 14, 2010 Looks like someone just earned their "Stab your conjoined twin with the snake head appendage growing out of your flesh blossom arm" badge. Way to go, Billy! Is it me or are Boy Scouts getting tougher these days? In my day you would get badges for "wittlin'" and "lookin' at stuff". Anyhoo, here are some detail shots... description of the photo

Sunday, March 7, 2010 Blam! That's right, the nipple quotient of this painting just went up 100%. And as we all know, once the nipple makes it's appearance, it's officially a party. description of the photo

Sunday, February 28, 2010 A wise man once said, "A pony in the hand is worth more than two ponies, one of which is really a horse but kinda still looks like a pony largely due to a genetic defect." My dad used to drink alot. Here is the latest. description of the photo

Monday, February 22, 2010 Well, no one has won the pony yet. Becky from Cleveland guessed that it is "an invisible floating torso monster with two heads and a fancy sash". Very funny Becky...NO PONY FOR YOU! Anyway, here's the latest. I must say that it's pretty obvious what is is by now. Chop, chop people! Your steed (pony) awaits! description of the photo

Sunday, February 14, 2010 GAH! An invisible floating torso monster...with two heads...and a...fancy sash?! The first person to guess what this is wins a pony! description of the photo

Wednesday, February 10, 2010 description of the photo So I've been lucky enough to be invited by the nice folks at Sacred Gallery in NYC to participate in their Blood, Sweat, and Fears show this fall. This subject matter, as you can imagine, is right up my twisted alley. As I mentioned in my Facebook post this piece may very well include a vomiting horse (of course, of course). If this turns out to be true, I can only imagine he will be accompanied by a mutant cowboy (naturally). More to come later but for now it's back to the task at hand.

Monday, February 8, 2010 Whew! So this weekend I finished prepping 3 paintings (Surprise!, Candy Corp Cavalcade, and Burn Baby Burn!) for the G40 Art Whino show and shipped them out today. Kinda nervous parting with some of my ugly mutant babies:)!

Thursday, February 4, 2010 description of the photo Ok, so you know how I said I was going to work on my latest painting everyday? Hahahaha! LIAR! Anyway, I've been putting the finishing touches a few pieces that I will be sending off to be in the G40 show in DC. It's a huge show put on by Art Whino and I'm excited to be a part of it. Click here to learn more. Hopefully this weekend I will get back to my current piece. Oh yeah, I'm finally on fuggin' Facebook. Let the celebrating commence. Yay.

Monday, February 1, 2010 Now, I know what you're thinking about this progress shot..."Doug, just spray that bad boy with fixative and call it a day, cause that is pure gold." So yeah, I admittedly didn't get much done this weekend but progress should come pretty quickly as I'm dedicated to working every day until this painting is done- no more slacking:)! description of the photo

Thursday, January 28, 2010 Was able to get the latest painting to the photographer this week and have posted it to the left. I'm looking forward to having a show sometime this year so folks can see the pieces in person as the photos, although good, don't give you the opportunity to really see the detail. I also just finished up the illustration for the next painting and am very excited to get started. Instead of posting the illustration and spoiling the surprise, I'll just be posting progress shots. Cheers!
